The Canada Life Assurance Company is seeking a Director, Technical Solutions to lead the delivery of high-quality digital solutions with business and technology teams. This hands‑on technology leader will guide solutions from design through production and work with architecture, cybersecurity and enterprise platform teams to deliver secure, reliable outcomes.

You will co‑lead a cross‑functional team translating product outcomes into an actionable technical plan, while remaining close to design,

Formación

• Degree or diploma in computer science or related discipline.
• 10+ years delivering digital products and technology platforms.
• Hands-on software delivery experience as Engineering Lead / Technical Lead / Solutions Architect.
• Full-stack expertise across web/mobile, APIs, data stores and cloud.
• Experience with distributed-systems design, including microservices, event-driven architecture, scalability and observability.
• Experience applying AI-based technologies to production use cases with governance.
• Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to varied audiences.
• Experience in regulated environments with security, reliability and execution expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Co‑lead a cross‑functional team with the Product Owner, translating product outcomes into an executable technical plan.
• Remain hands‑on through architecture spikes, code and design reviews, troubleshooting automation and critical-path delivery.
• Apply AI‑based technologies where they create measurable value with governance controls.
• Establish full‑stack engineering standards for UX, API design, data handling, observability and maintainability.
• Own end‑to‑end technical delivery across experience, application, API and cloud layers within guardrails.
• Guide design decisions while enabling engineers to own implementation.
