Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an entry-level Haz Waste Processing Technician in Calgary. You will handle, receive, and process hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams with a safety-first mindset.

The role involves light to moderate physical tasks, operating equipment, and using digital systems for documentation. Training and ongoing development are provided. The position supports a standard 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday, with opportunities to grow within the facility and contribute

Qualifications

Entry-level role focusing on safety, accuracy, and basic processing of waste streams.
Basic computer and digital system proficiency required for documentation and checks.
Willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and process incoming waste streams safely and efficiently.
Complete paperwork, labels, and documentation accurately.
Verify materials meet acceptance protocols and file discrepancy reports when needed.
Assist with loading and unloading of trucks, totes, and containers.
Operate processing equipment per safety procedures and training.
Conduct job hazard assessments and promote a strong safety culture.
Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
Maintain cleanliness and equipment upkeep in the facility.
Support additional tasks as needed and work with the team.
