GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the day-to-day operations related to waste receiving, handling, processing and disposal. You will prepare glassware, calibrate instruments, and report results to production teams.

The role requires a diploma in environmental or chemical technology, solid computer skills, and a commitment to safety. You will maintain records, assist with waste classifications, and help ensure regulatory compliance at the site.

Qualifications

• Environmental or Chemical Engineering Technician/Technologist or Chemistry diploma required.
• Previous laboratory experience is an asset.
• Good computer skills with MS Windows and Office.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team; safety conscious.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and clean glassware required for sample analysis.
• Perform routine calibration, sample preparation and analyses employing ICP, GC, Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter and other instrumentation.
• Report analytical results and coordinate with production personnel.
• Maintain accurate analysis, maintenance, and production records.
• Complete documentation associated with provincial and federal regulations governing waste control and declarations.
• Toubleshoot issues with laboratory instrumentation and assist other facility operators.
