Job summary

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools is seeking a half-time Educational Assistant in EC S. The successful candidate will support students' growth in cognition, communication, physical and social development and assist with teacher-directed programming in a collaborative environment.

The role requires working with teachers, CST and the multi-disciplinary team to implement strategies from specialists and support literacy/numeracy activities, with potential involvement in a swim program and safety tasks.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma is required.
• Experience supporting cognition, communication, physical and social development is desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively under supervision of teachers and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Support students' growth in cognition, communication, physical and social development.
• Assist with teacher-directed programming.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, CST and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Implement strategies from specialists to achieve goals for students.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy activities.
• Support and/or implement school safety and behaviour strategies.
