Job summary

Amico leads the Guideway Superintendent role for The Ontario Line, overseeing elevated guideway activities and coordinating with ACCIONA and project management teams. You will drive field execution to meet design, schedule, and budget targets while navigating complex interfaces and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 - 7 years of structures construction management and supervision experience with large infrastructure projects preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management; relevant experience may offset educational requirements.
• Strong knowledge of bridge/structural construction including specifications, codes and standards.
• Experience with subway/light rail projects, including delivery and handover of elevated guideway/bridge assets.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proven ability to manage multiple crews in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with effective communication with diverse teams.
• Commitment to safety and quality, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise on-site construction activities related to the elevated guideway portion of the project.
• Provide a clear line of communication between the field and the project manager.
• Provide regular crew productivity information to the project manager and maintain lookahead schedules.
• Maintain project progress in accordance with the schedule.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of supply chains and sub-contractors.
• Direct and supervise sub-contracted crews for guideway foundations, substructure and superstructure.
• Oversee delivery and erection of precast segmental guideway elements and launching gantry operations.
• Ensure work aligns with relevant standards, specifications and codes.
• Oversee erection of concrete and steel structures, coordinating with other segments and on-site deliveries.
• Complete and maintain daily site records/diary.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections in line with Health and Safety policies.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of supplier and sub-contractors.
• Ensure work complies with approved project standards, specifications and codes.
• Act as primary site contact for stakeholder and client inspection staff; facilitate meetings and collaboration.

The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

Job Description

The Guideway Superintendent will support the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract ("EGS") of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP). The Guideway Superintendent will ensure that the construction activities, from a field level, are managed and executed per the approved design, schedule, budget, standards and specifications. This position requires an experienced construction professional with a deep understanding of Civil and Bridge Infrastructure, as well as strong leadership and communication skills to navigate complex design, schedule, estimation, risk and stakeholder relationships and regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise on-site construction activities as they relate to the elevated guideway portion of the project.
• Provide a clear line of communication between the field and the project manager.
• Provide regular crew productivity information to the project manager to develop and maintain detailed lookahead schedules, and track accurately project completion.
• Maintain progress of the project in accordance with the project schedule.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of supply chains and sub-contractors.
• Direct and supervise various sub-contracted crews for the guideway foundations, substructure and superstructure.
• Oversee the delivery and erection of the precast segmental guideway elements, including the operation of the launching gantry.
• Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and codes.
• Oversee the erection of concrete and steel structures, including scheduling, coordinating with other construction segments, planning on-site deliveries, and managing procedures related to erection and lifting.
• Complete and maintain daily site records/diary.
• Complete regular site safety inspections and align with the project Health and Safety management policies.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of supplier and sub-contractors.
• Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the approved project standards, specifications and codes.
• Act as the primary contact site contact for stakeholder and client inspection staff. Facilitate regular meetings and communication to ensure alignment and collaboration among all parties involved.
• Understand and manage all contract interface points with other Ontario Line contractors. Ensure any queries and proposed changes are managed through the Interface Contract Document process.
• Responsible for organizing material and equipment deliveries to the project site. Maintain a tracker of all site materials.

Qualifications

Work Conditions

• Must hold all relevant safety and supervisor training certifications.
