Job summary

Amico Major Projects Inc. is seeking an Architectural Lead to manage all architectural aspects of construction projects, ensuring designs meet aesthetic, functional, and regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership, deep knowledge of building codes, materials, and sustainable design principles, with office-based work and regular site visits to monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in architectural design and construction, with leadership experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in railway and transit sector.
• Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction materials, and architectural detailing.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process from design development to construction completion.
• Oversee the preparation and review of architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and 3D models.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with structural, MEP, and civil engineers to integrate designs with other disciplines.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to meet design intent and quality.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address design issues.
• Evaluate materials, finishes, and techniques to achieve project objectives efficiently.
• Lead design coordination meetings and provide technical guidance to architects.
• Implement sustainable design strategies considering energy efficiency and green certifications.
• Prepare and manage architectural budgets, schedules, and resources.

Job Description

The Stations Architectural Lead will support the the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

As the Architectural Lead, you will oversee and manage all architectural aspects of construction projects, ensuring that designs meet aesthetic, functional, and regulatory requirements. The Architectural Lead will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop and implement architectural designs that align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.

This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of building codes, materials, and sustainable design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process from design development to construction completion.
• Oversee the preparation and review of architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and 3D models.
