Job summary

Amico is seeking a Utilities Coordinator to support the EGS of The Ontario Line in Toronto. You will manage relocation, protection, and installation of wet and dry utilities, oversee on-site activity, and ensure compliance with City standards.

Join a collaborative team delivering major infrastructure; you will coordinate with internal teams and consultants, prepare plans and costs, and monitor schedules to keep the project on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience reviewing technical drawings and reports for utility projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; familiarity with GIS is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description

The Utilities Coordinator will support the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract ("EGS") of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).

The Utilities Coordinator will support the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract ("EGS") of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP). As the Utilities Coordinator, you are responsible for managing and coordinating the relocation, protection, and installation of wet and dry utilities, including traffic signals and streetlighting systems. The role involves overseeing engineering and construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and City regulations. Additionally, the Utilities Coordinator monitors project documentation, supervise onsite activities, and facilitates collaboration among stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage relocations and installations of wet and dry utilities including, Streetlighting and traffic signals systems.
• Supervise engineering and construction activities, ensuring compliance with established project and city standards/specs.
• Attend and participate in meetings with internal teams, external consultants, and municipal agencies to ensure alignment on project goals and utility integration.
• Contribute to the development of comprehensive construction plans, overseeing subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for utility-related work.
• Lead initiatives to enhance productivity; monitor subcontractor performance to ensure project plans and schedules are met.
• Track and collect essential documentation for additional work, submittals, and billing backup, as well as monitor project schedule activity, including milestones.
• Oversee Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations and conduct Condition Surveys.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, promoting a positive team environment and a culture of collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent college diploma combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in reviewing technical drawings and reports related to utility projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, familiarity with GIS and other digital tools is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent organizational abilities.
• A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to teamwork, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving.
• A confident, positive, and professional demeanor, with the ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities and project challenges.
• Experience with City of Toronto Specifications and standards for Wet Utilities is an asset.

Work Conditions

• Must possess a valid Ontario Driving license G or G2.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• May require working extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet project deadlines.
