Job summary

The Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax is seeking a friendly Valet Attendant / Bellperson to warmly welcome guests, assist with luggage, and park vehicles with care. This fast-paced, guest-facing role emphasizes safety, service, and a polished arrival and departure experience.

You will greet guests, escort them to rooms, provide local recommendations, and uphold high standards of appearance and SOPs while supporting a memorable stay for every guest.

Qualifications

• Prior hotel/valet or guest service experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles, including various sizes.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Physically able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm smile and provide a welcoming presence.
• Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles with care.
• Assist guests with directions, hotel amenities, transportation needs, and local recommendations.
• Escort guests to rooms and assist with luggage and items.
• Follow hotel safety procedures and report safety concerns.
• Transfer luggage between guest rooms, vehicles, and storage areas.
• Maintain lobby, entrance, and valet areas in a clean, organized state.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and uniform compliance.
