Sobeys Inc. is hiring All Purpose Clerks to support Grocery and Produce sections in our Vancouver-area stores. Full training is provided.

You will greet customers, process payments, stock shelves, maintain clean check stands and assist with inventory. The role emphasizes friendly service, teamwork, safety, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Experience is not required on opening; training is provided to help you succeed and grow with our retail team committed to helping Canadians

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Process cash register payments by cash, cheque, credit card, gift card and debit
• Wrap and place merchandise in bags / carts
• Maintain cleanliness of check stands
• Stocking product to shelves such as Dairy, Frozen, perishable (produce) and non-perishables
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
• Rotation of product
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor
• Backroom and inventory management
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

So too is maintaining a well-stocked store (forboth the Grocery and Produce sections) so that the customer shopping experience is quick, easy andefficient. That is why our All Purpose Clerks play such an important role in the success of our stores. Fulltraining is provided for this position.

• Constant lifting of up to 20 pounds
• Constant reaching, gripping
• Constant computer and point of sale system use
• Frequent bending, walking, standing, twisting, pushing or pulling
• Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 20-50 pounds including waist level and low level lifts
• Occasional crouching, kneeling, squatting
