Safeway in Canada is seeking friendly, enthusiastic individuals to join our All Purpose Clerk team. This entry level role provides full training and sharpens customer service, POS handling and stock replenishment.

You will greet customers, process payments, stock shelves, maintain clean check lanes and support backroom and inventory tasks while following Safeway procedures. Evening and weekend availability is encouraged to meet store needs and promotes regular pay increases for hourly staff.

• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt quickly.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

• Maintain cleanliness of check stands.
• Stocking product to shelves such as Dairy, Frozen, perishable (produce) and non-perishables.
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs.
• Rotation of product.
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor.
• Backroom and inventory management.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

As a customer yourself, you know how important helpful service is. The impression shoppers get at thefront end of the store is key to building customer loyalty. So too is maintaining a well-stocked store (forboth the Grocery and Produce sections) so that the customer shopping experience is quick, easy andefficient. That is why our All Purpose Clerks play such an important role in the success of our stores. Fulltraining is provided for this position.
