Job summary

Safeway in Canada is seeking entry-level Clerks to support front-end and grocery operations. Full training is provided for this position and you will engage with customers, handle transactions, stock shelves, maintain displays and support inventory tasks.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing payments, restocking, and upholding store policies while maintaining a safe, efficient checkout area.

Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway's programs
• Process cash register payments by cash, cheque, credit card, gift card and debit
• Wrap and place merchandise in bags / carts
• Maintain cleanliness of check stands
• Stocking product to shelves such as Dairy, Frozen, perishable (produce) and non-perishables
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
• Rotation of product
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor
• Backroom and inventory management
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

That is why our All Purpose Clerks play such an important role in the success of our stores. Fulltraining is provided for this position.
