Job summary

The Graphic Designer (Work Study) at Fanshawe Student Union supports marketing and communications by creating visual content for print and digital platforms. This part-time, temporary position is open to Fanshawe College students approved for Work Study.

Responsibilities include designing marketing materials, finalizing artwork for print/digital, and maintaining an organized design archive. Collaboration with the Communications Team is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time Fanshawe College student approved for the Work Study program.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); Mac platform experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of current design principles, tools, and production processes.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to receive and incorporate feedback.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable attendance and time management.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce a variety of marketing materials including posters, brochures, ads, flyers, newsletters, and digital graphics.
• Prepare final artwork for print and digital use, ensuring files meet production specs.
• Maintain an organized digital archive of design projects.
• Collaborate with the Communications Team and attend creative meetings as required.
• Ensure consistency with FSU branding, style guides, and accessibility standards.
• Support social media and experiential marketing initiatives with visual content.
• Represent the department at student events in a professional manner.
• Assist with additional tasks to support department goals.
