Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited in Saskatchewan seeks a Grain Originator to grow and manage relationships with grain producers and dealers. You will source grain to meet export and domestic needs and provide market information to support the Merchandising team.

Travel may be required for face-to-face meetings. A post-secondary education plus grain-sales experience helps. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Excel is expected. Join a team dedicated to Canadian agriculture and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education considered an asset.
• Experience in sales, with preference given to grain industry sales.
• Strong sales techniques and negotiation strategies.
• Exceptional customer service, relationship building and networking skills.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and close deals.
• Available to travel periodically.
• Microsoft 365 Application Suite (Word, high proficiency in Excel)
• Valid driver’s license and be available to travel periodically.

• Negotiate contracts with producers and dealers on the purchase of grain.
• First point of contact for purchasing and delivery of grain.
• Meet with producers face to face to prospect for new business, nurture relationships, and collect grain samples.
• Update producers on market information.
• Review grain marketing programs.
• Provide the P&H Merchandising team with grain market information from producers and dealers.

Your Team

Grain & Crop Inputs: The Grain & Crop Inputs Division connects Canadian farmers to markets across the country and beyond. With a network of grain elevators, terminals, and agri-retail locations, we provide crop inputs, agronomic solutions, and grain marketing expertise to help producers succeed.

The Role

As the Grain Originator, the successful candidate will complement the high-volume contracts of the Merchandising department by developing and maintaining relationships with key grain producers and dealers. They will gain market information for producers and source grain to satisfy P&H’s export and domestic customer needs.
