Job summary

Arup is seeking a graduate engineer in Calgary to assist in the design, analysis and simulation of electrical power systems, including solar, wind and battery storage projects. You will support studies such as short circuit, load flow and arc flash while learning transmission line design and related software under senior staff guidance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with power systems focus, familiarity with PSCAD/PSS/E/ETAP/SKM and basic AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
• Familiarity with PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, SKM or similar tools is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus and ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, analysis and simulation of electrical power systems, including renewables.
• Perform power system studies: short circuit, cable ampacity, arc flash, loadflow, energy yield.
• Contribute to design of solar facilities, substations and BESS under senior staff guidance.
• Carry out grounding, short circuit, cable ampacity, load flow, arc flash and voltage drop calculations.
• Learn transmission and distribution line design and software such as PLS-CAD.
• Support documentation and data organization for project results.
