Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Grader Operator in Edmonton to prepare and finish surfaces for construction projects. You will operate motor graders to ensure proper drainage, grading accuracy, and high-quality groundwork for roads and sites.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, experience with motor graders in road construction, and a valid driver’s license. This full-time hourly role emphasizes safety and efficient teamwork on busy job sites.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating motor graders in road construction.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and elevations.
  • Read and interpret grade stakes, plans, and survey markings.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver precise grading to ensure drainage and foundation preparation.
  • Operate motors graders safely and efficiently to keep projects on schedule.
  • Contribute to the quality of roads, building pads, and site infrastructure.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
  • Work with site supervisors and surveyors to maintain project timelines.
  • Grade within site tolerances per specifications.
  • Promote health, safety and environmental policies on site.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize Construction is looking for a skilled and reliable Grader Operator to join our team. This position plays a key role in preparing and finishing surfaces for construction projects. The successful candidate will operate motor graders and related equipment to ensure precise grading, proper drainage, and high-quality groundwork for roads, sites, and other infrastructure projects.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, operates equipment safely, and understands the importance of accuracy and efficiency on a job site.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Deliver precise grading that ensures proper drainage and foundation preparation

  • Help keep projects running on schedule by operating efficiently and safely

  • Contribute to the quality and durability of roads, building pads, and site infrastructure

  • Support the success of our construction crews through reliable equipment operation

  • Shape and level surfaces to project specifications and grade requirements

  • Assist with building and maintaining roadways, pads, drainage systems, and other earthwork tasks

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

  • Work closely with site supervisors, surveyors, and other operators to maintain project timelines

  • Grading within site tolerances as per specifications

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience: Experience operating motor graders in road construction

Required Training/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and elevations

  • Strong understanding of site preparation and grading techniques

  • Commitment to safety and proper equipment operation

  • Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Read and interpret grade stakes, plans, and survey markings

  • Amrize-approved PPE, including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
