Job summary

Parkview Elementary is seeking a 1.0 FTE Grade 4/5 Teacher for a temporary assignment effective immediately through June 30, 2027. The successful candidate will hold a BA or BEd (Elementary), a valid BC teaching certificate, and current TRB membership, and will contribute to numeracy initiatives and inclusive practices with diverse learners.

Qualifications

Training in elementary education.
Successful experience teaching at the intermediate level.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and numeracy initiatives.
Experience teaching a classroom of diverse learners.
Excellent classroom management experience and skills.
Knowledge of current instructional practices and renewed curriculum.
Knowledge of First Peoples' Principles of Learning.
Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
Willingness to work with Principal Learning Resource and Support Teachers to support students' needs.
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to contribute to school wide programs including numeracy, Heggerty and UFLI.
Ability and commitment to work closely with parents, guardians, and caregivers.
Demonstrated ability to build staff collective efficacy.
