Job description

Temporary 0.4 Fte Teacher (School District 84)

Effective March 30, 2026 to June 30, 2026, or until the incumbent returns.

School District 84 engages in preferential hiring of self-identified First Nations applicants in accordance with section 42 (Special Programs) of BC's Human Rights Code.

Qualifications
  • Valid BC certification with TRB with qualifications and experience at the primary level, preferably in a multi-grade classroom.

  • Facilitation and engagement: ability to capture and maintain students' interest, effort, participation, and enthusiasm for both content and process of learning.
  • Assessment and coaching: ability to utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning, including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: ability to collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives.
  • Caring and inclusiveness: ability to create and maintain a caring, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: ability to demonstrate flexibility, adjust, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Teaching Assignment
  • Kindergarten and Primary Program instruction; may include other subjects and outdoor settings as required.
  • Willingness and flexibility to teach other subjects and in an outdoor setting as required.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
