Job summary

Fort McMurray Catholic Schools in Fort McMurray, Alberta, is seeking a temporary Grade 1 teacher for St. Anne Catholic School.

The position is 1.0 FTE full-time, starting immediately to 2027-06-28, with potential extension and posting remaining open until filled. The successful candidate will identify student needs, plan instruction, foster a stimulating learning environment, engage with parents, and collaborate with professionals.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for Alberta Teacher Certification and hold a Bachelor of Education Degree.
• Strong relationship building skills and ability to engage with families.
• Flexible and adaptable to school needs and schedules.
• Organized and able to meet deadlines in accordance with the school calendar.
• Commitment to education and positive classroom learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify students’ individual and collective learning needs.
• Plan and deliver instruction based on student needs and special needs.
• Provide a stimulating learning environment for growth and development.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and planning.
• Evaluate and communicate student progress to stakeholders.
• Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
• Meet with other professionals to discuss student needs and progress.
• Volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities.
• Attend meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions.

Start Date: Immediately to June 28 2027

The Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division is seeking a temporary (1.0 FTE)full-time Grade 1 teacher starting as soon as available until June 28 2027 (may be extended) at St. Anne Catholic School.

Duties of Elementary School teachers may include but, not limited to, the following:

• identify students’ individual and collective learning needs
• plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs
• provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to his or her potential
• help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes.
• meet with parents
• evaluate and communicate student progress
• prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help
• meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress
• volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities
• attend meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions.
