Job summary

Bird Construction in Calgary seeks a Travel & Mobility Manager to lead the national travel program, aligning with governance, duty of care, and cost targets. You will partner with Finance, Procurement, HR, Risk and Leadership to optimize spend and vendor performance across regions.

Responsibilities include developing a scalable travel strategy, establishing policies, overseeing Concur/Workday platforms, and delivering executive travel reports. Travel required to support programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 7–10+ years of experience in corporate travel management, procurement, or a related function.
• Experience in a large, complex, or publicly traded organization is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing global or multi-regional travel programs.
• Proven track record of vendor negotiation and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a scalable, global travel strategy aligned with organizational goals and cost targets.
• Establish corporate travel policies and ensure compliance with governance standards.
• Monitor policy adherence across business units and drive cost savings.
• Lead sourcing, negotiation, and management of airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, and TMCs.
• Define SLAs and KPIs to measure vendor performance and conduct regular business reviews.
• Manage the corporate travel budget and provide executive reporting on spend and savings.
• Oversee travel booking platforms and expense systems (e.g., Concur, Workday).
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Risk, and Leadership to optimize travel experiences.
