Job summary

AgeCare in Ontario seeks a Registered Practical Nurse to provide professional nursing care for residents, in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, and to supervise Personal Support Workers on the care team.

You will liaise with physicians, participate in shift reports, and ensure residents’ care needs are met throughout your shift. A valid College of Nurses of Ontario license in good standing is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of geriatric and long-term care nursing practices.
• Must be licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to implement AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Provide input into revision of unit procedures.
• Liaise with physicians and other health care team members.
• Notify physician of significant changes if the RN is unavailable.
• Ensure residents' care needs are met with the health care team.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on the care team.
• Participate in shift reports to update the team on resident status.
