Job summary

Southlake Regional Health Centre is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the ACE unit in Newmarket, ON. You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with RNs, PT/OT, and other team members to support elderly patients and return to community care.

The role requires an RPN diploma, CNO registration in good standing, and current BLS certification. Experience in acute geriatric medicine and IV therapy is preferred. Hybrid work considerations apply where applicable.

Qualifications

• RPN diploma from a recognized nursing program
• RPN Certificate of Registration in good standing
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with IV therapy and geriatric care preferred
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, nights and weekends
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide patient- and family-centered care within RPN scope
• Follow hospital policies and emergency codes
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to plan and deliver care
• Document health status and Plan of Care updates
• Assist in orientation of new staff and students
• Promote safe, high-quality care and continuous improvement
