Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the Geriatric Dementia Unit in Whitby, ON. The role emphasizes recovery-focused care, assessment, and collaboration within an interprofessional team.

The position is temporary, part-time, with shifts to meet patient needs. Candidates must be in good standing with CNO, hold BCLS, and have knowledge of PHIPA and MHNA standards.

Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• Demonstrated knowledge of standards and reflective practice relevant to nursing.
• Knowledge of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing standards and relevant acts (PHIPA/Mental Health Act).
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilités

• Provide assessment, care, medications, interventions and documentation.
• Support recovery-focused care in the Geriatric Dementia Unit.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
