Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a motivated individual to join our Hamilton team as a Non-Ferrous Receiver. Under supervision, you will assist with receiving materials from customers and perform general maintenance on the premises.

You will sort ferrous and non-ferrous materials, operate recycling machinery, and help with loading/unloading vehicles, while following strict safety protocols in a loud industrial setting.

Qualifications

• You are comfortable working in a loud, dusty, heavy industrial environment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly in a fast-paced setting.
• You can handle a physically demanding role.
• Willing to learn and perform various tasks.
• You communicate clearly and can interact with the public or customers.

Responsibilities

• Sort and segregate ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
• Operate machinery and equipment used in the recycling process.
• Inspect, load, and unload customer vehicles and trucks.
• Depollute vehicles by removing oils, gas, coolant, etc.
• Perform basic maintenance and keep equipment/work areas clean.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Non-Ferrous Receiver with experience for our Hamilton location. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the general maintenance of the premises and receiving materials from our customers:

What you're responsible for

• Operating machinery and equipment used in the recycling process
• Inspecting, loading, and unloading of customer vehicles and trucks
• Performing depollution of vehicles including removing oils, gas, coolant, etc
• Conducting basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas
• Following safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment

Qualifications
