Job summary

American Iron & Metal in Sault Ste. Marie is recruiting a General Labourer to help maintain the site and support operations in a metal recycling facility.

The role offers starting pay CAD 25.75 per hour, overtime after 44 hours, and a full-time permanent position with vacation, benefits and RRSP matching; successful candidates will have good computer skills, be able to work in all weather, and enjoy teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in metal recycling is an asset.
• Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good physical fitness.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort and organize ferrous metals.
• Cover the scale and weigh trucks using RECY system.
• Perform general maintenance of the premises.
• Ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Provide on-site customer service.
• Operate the forklift as required.
• Maintain a safety-oriented mindset.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a General Labourer with experience for our Sault Ste. Marie location. Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the general maintenance of the premises.

• Receive, sort and organize different types of ferrous metals
• Cover the scale and weigh in trucks when required using the RECY system to properly weigh and track the material
• Do general maintenance of the premises
• Ensure the equipment in good condition
• Provide excellent customer service to clients on site
• Operate the Fork lift as required
• Work with a safety oriented mindset
