Job summary

Compass Group Canada in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to prepare, present, and serve meals while maintaining high food quality and presentation standards.

You will handle prep work, serving, sanitation, and cash register duties as part of a busy retail area, with emphasis on safety and customer service. Fluency in English and FoodSafe certification are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables.

• Store food following wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for daily purchases.
• Perform general cleaning and dispose of trash.
• Distribute supplies and portable equipment as required.
• Follow recipes and standards to ensure quality and portions; alert cooks if temps are off.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner and follow service steps.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.

• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Notify cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits.


• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.


• Resolve customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.


• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.


• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
