Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Multi Skilled Worker to support daily operations in a care-oriented dining environment. You may perform housekeeping, assist with food preparation, serve meals, deliver trays, and manage dishwashing while maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen and dining area.

Ideal candidates hold a valid Food Handler Certificate, have experience in housekeeping or food services, and can work independently or as part of a team, with strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Housekeeping and food services experience is an asset.
• Healthcare environment or long-term care experience is preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good command of English, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain residents' rooms and common areas.
• Assist with food preparation, setup and cleanup of chairs/tables, serving meals, delivering trays, dishwashing.

Description

How you will make an impact:
You will be responsible for supporting our daily operations with a wide range of tasks such as cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing.

As a Multi Skilled Worker, you will:

• Perform housekeeping duties such as maintaining the cleanliness of residents’ rooms and common areas.
• Assist with food preparation, set up and cleanup of chairs & tables, serving meals, delivering trays to residents, dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Perform duties according to health & safety guidelines, report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately and other reasonable requests from management

About you:

• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
• Previous housekeeping and food services experience is an asset
• Previous experience in the healthcare environment or long-term care setting is preferred
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
