Job summary

Securiguard Services Ltd. is seeking professional Gatehouse Security Guards to manage access at our Ajax distribution centre. You will screen inbound/outbound trucks, verify documents, and perform security checks to maintain a secure site.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid CPR, with ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Training provided and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid CPR.
• Experience in gatehouse or distribution centre preferred.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the distribution centre.
• Process inbound and outbound trucks at the gatehouse.
• Verify driver ID, shipping documents, and delivery paperwork.
• Conduct inspections of trucks, trailers and areas per site policies.
• Check trailer seal numbers and ensure docs match site records.
• Record vehicle, trailer and visitor information accurately.
• Perform gatehouse inspections and security checks.
• Maintain logs and incident reports.
• Communicate with site personnel, drivers and management.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies as required.
• Perform routine patrols of the property when needed.
• Ensure all security, safety and procedures are followed.

Job description

We are seeking professional and detail-oriented Gatehouse Security Guards to work at one of our distribution centres in Ajax. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facility by effectively screening inbound and outbound trucks at the gatehouse. If you are a highly responsible individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the distribution centre.


• Process inbound and outbound trucks in accordance with site procedures.


• Verify driver identification, shipping documents, and delivery paperwork.


• Conduct inspections of trucks, trailers, and other areas as required by site policies.


• Check trailer seal numbers and ensure documentation matches site records.


• Record vehicle, trailer, and visitor information accurately.


• Perform gatehouse inspections and security checks.


• Maintain detailed logs and complete incident and occurrence reports.


• Communicate effectively with site personnel, drivers, and management.


• Respond to security incidents and emergencies as required.


• Perform routine patrols of the property when necessary.


• Ensure all site security, safety, and operational procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence and First Aid CPR


• Previous gatehouse, distribution centre, warehouse, or security experience is preferred.


• Strong communication and customer service skills.


• Strong computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.


• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent truck traffic.


• Ability to conduct truck and trailer inspections and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.


• Reliable transportation is considered an asset.


• Ability to work days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
