Cooper Equipment Rentals is hiring an apprentice gasfitter to install, maintain, and service gas heating units and components at construction sites and shop facilities. You will diagnose issues, perform tests, and support safety and compliance on jobs.

Prior pickup/maintenance experience is valued, with emphasis on on-site installations and repairs. Join a safety-minded team offering RRSP matching, tool allowances, and year-round opportunities.

Perks!Competitive salary, with overtime availableExcellent benefit package with premiums paid by the companyTool allowanceUniform, safety boots/shoes, safety gear providedRRSP MatchSafety-minded organizationStable, year-round employmentContinuous training, learning and development opportunitiesFun-loving work environment with strong social responsibilityWhat You'll Be DoingDuties and Responsibilities:Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment.Install, maintain and service gas construction heating units and their components, such as burners, valves, and automatic controls.Test and replace defective equipment or components.Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.Attend to gas escape calls.Prepare reports on work performed and condition of equipment.Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems.May repair and service gas appliances and related equipment.Check equipment for damage upon return, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle.What You'll Bring to the TeamQualifications and Requirements:1st to 4th year apprentice gasfitter.Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Picker truck experience is preferred.Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair a variety of heating equipment in the shop or field.Experience with temporary construction heaters (direct and indirect fired, hydronic, electrical etc.) would be an asset.Knowledge of designing and installing temporary heating systems at construction sites using natural gas, propane and diesel equipment would be an asset.Knowledge of the safety regulations, codes and practices regarding LP/NG use, equipment servicing, permitting and installation at construction sites would be an asset.Ability to read/understand building and mechanical plans, job specifications and other technical documents would be an asset.Pride in what you do!#SJ2Want to learn more about career opportunities at Cooper Equipment Rentals?
