Job summary

Reliance Home Comfort is hiring a Gas Fitter to professionally install and service water heaters and tankless equipment in residential settings across Canada. You will diagnose, repair and maintain HVAC systems while upholding safety standards and customer-focused service on every call.

Ideal candidates have a Domestic Gas Fitter B certificate, a valid Class 5 driver’s license, Grade 12 or equivalent, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Domestic Gas Fitter B certificate required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• HVAC diagnostics and maintenance skills for residential equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift heavy water heaters and operate handling equipment.
• Willing to learn new technologies and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and standby duties.

Responsibilities

• Represent Reliance professionally on every call; act as a company ambassador.
• Explain, educate and promote Reliance products, services and programs.
• Install water heaters and tankless equipment per manufacturer specs and codes.
• Replace or repair leaking water heaters and perform HVAC maintenance.
• Ensure personal and customer safety.
• Provide superior customer service and problem solving; educate customers and provide options.
• Mentor new installers; perform other duties as assigned by management.

What will you do?

• Professionally install water heater and tankless equipment and accessory items in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes and company standards.
• Replace or repair leaking water heaters and maintenance of HVAC equipment.

Ensure personal and customer safety.

• Provide superior customer service (i.e. execution of “The Right Call” process).
• Create positive customer relations through effective communication and problem solving.
• Educate customers, providing options and making recommendations.
• Actively participate in the training and mentoring of new installers.

Other duties, as assigned by management.

What do you bring?

• Completed a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must have Domestic Gas Fitter B certificate
• Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Diagnostic and HVAC maintenance skills for residential equipment.
• Must be physically capable of performing all work required of this position.
• In addition, ability to lift and maneuver water heaters with the assistance of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to understand/learn new technologies (i.e. Electronics/electricity).
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both in written and verbal communications.
• Must have strong interpersonal and problem -solving skills.
• Must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills.
• Very punctual and dependable.
• Maintain company vehicle to neat clean and safe standard (where applicable).
• Ability to take direction and work with a minimal amount of supervision.
• Be willing and able to work rotating shifts and standby duties as required, including weekends.
