Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a customer-oriented driver to load, deliver, and pickup heavy equipment from various job sites. You will maintain delivery records, secure signatures, and communicate with dispatch to manage timelines.

Ideal candidates have a Class G license, are familiar with local roads, and are willing to work overtime. Safety-focused and able to operate and instruct customers on equipment use are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory abstract (no more than three demerit points).
• Familiar with local roads.
• Experience with operating and delivering heavy construction equipment is an asset (earthmoving equipment as well as aerial equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, etc.).
• Available and willing to work overtime as needed.
• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
• Deliver and pick up equipment.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
• Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
• Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
• Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.
• Instruct customers on equipment operation.
• If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature.
• Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.
• Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
• Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.
• Complete daily field level hazard assessments and personal protective equipment inspections on E-Compliance (safety management software).

What You’ll Bring to the Team
