Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Contracts Lawyer for a fully remote role with administrative ties to East London. You will draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring legal soundness and alignment with risk appetite.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in contract law and will work independently with internal stakeholders remotely. You will advise on terms and risks, maintain contract repositories, and collaborate across business units to meet contractual needs.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney or advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum 5 years of experience specializing in contract law.
• Proven drafting and negotiating of complex commercial agreements.
• Thorough understanding of contract law principles and best practices.
• Strong organizational skills to manage high volume work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts including service agreements, NDAs, and partnerships.
• Provide expert legal advice on contractual terms, risks, and obligations.
• Ensure contracts comply with relevant laws and company policies.
• Maintain and manage a central repository of all company contracts.
• Collaborate with business units to understand their contractual needs and provide timely legal support.
