Job summary

SOAR Community Services is seeking a Full Time Support Counsellor – Nights at Peter Willis Residence in Brantford, ON. This role supports federally sentenced men transitioning to community life through counselling, group programs, and employment services.

Responsibilities include implementing support plans, medication documentation, dispute mediation, urinalysis testing, and a mix of administrative and cleaning tasks. You’ll join a mission-driven team focused on pro-social outcomes.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Human/Social Services field.
• Minimum 1 year combined student placement or paid experience in a therapeutic and/or correctional residential setting or with individuals involved in the justice system.
• Reliability Status must be granted.
• Proficient in MS Office and familiar with databases.
• Access to reliable transportation; some travel may be required.
• Ability to manage exposure to vicarious traumatic stress.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Full Time Support Counsellor – Nights, Peter Willis Residence. This role is a vital part of our Justice Services program, assisting federally sentenced men to transition to the community by offering individual counselling, group programs, and employment services, as well as providing clients with the skills and supports they need to achieve a productive, pro‑social lifestyle.
