Job summary

Carefor is seeking a full-time Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide essential personal care and support to clients in their homes and community settings in Eastern Ontario. You will work under a regulated health professional, promoting independence and dignity in alignment with Carefor's mission and values.

Carefor supports ongoing professional development, HOOPP pension, and a flexible schedule. A vehicle and valid license are required for some full-time positions, with options for growth

Qualifications

• PSW certificate or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Experience in home care, retirement homes, or long-term care is an asset.
• CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and transfers.
• Observe and report changes to the supervising nurse or care team.
• Provide medication reminders or assistance per care plan.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Engage clients to reduce isolation and promote well-being.
• Document care provided and communicate with clients, families, and team.
• Follow PPE protocols and infection control guidelines.
• Collaborate with nurses, supervisors, and health care professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide basic ostomy and catheter care; assist with end-of-life and respite care when appropriate.
