EGADZ is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Worker to oversee the maintenance of their Youth Centre and residential housing. The role requires previous custodial experience, knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, as well as strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will contribute to a supportive environment for youth, ensuring safety and functionality of facilities.
The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires a Full Time Maintenance Person to be responsible for Maintenance of EGADZ Youth Centre Facility as well as Residential Housing as required. This includes safety and other necessary inspections as required.
The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. / EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life.
Qualifications
• Previous custodial/maintenance experience with Commercial/Residential buildings required.
• Knowledge and experience in carpentry and associated power tools
• Minor skills in plumbing and electrical
• Skills in drywall, patching and painting
• Organizational and time management skills in a busy environment
• Able to adapt to daily changes and tackle new challenges
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff, vendors and various trade contractors.
• Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in oral and written form
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License that reflects a safe driving record— a Driver’s Abstract is required (no older than 3 Months)
• Criminal Records Check Required (no older than 6 Months)
• Knowledge of Indigenous Culture is an asset
• Working knowledge of computers/windows is an asset
Wage $22-$25 based on experience
