Job summary

Affirm is hiring for a software engineer to join the Marketplace and App Experience team. This remote Canada role collaborates with product, design and analytics to ship web and mobile apps using React, Vue and React Native, and to design APIs in Kotlin or Python.

Base pay ranges CAD 133,000–183,000 with equity rewards and health coverage. You'll break down projects, own delivery in phases, monitor metrics, and participate in interviewing to help grow the team.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping web apps with React or Vue.
• Experience shipping mobile apps with React Native.
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs using Kotlin or Python.
• Able to translate simple problems into extensible code.
• Proven ownership and feedback through code reviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication with global teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Break down large projects into tasks and deliver in phases.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics on ideation and trade-offs.
• Create and monitor metrics; support on-call efforts and keep systems healthy.
• Contribute to team growth through interview participation and mentorship.
