Job summary

BluPlanet Recycling is seeking a Front Load Truck Driver (Class 3) in Calgary, AB for a full-time position. You will perform safe, efficient multi-stop waste collections with 80–100 stops per day, while ensuring on-time service and high safety standards.

The role requires a Class 3 license with airbrake endorsement and a minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience, plus strong customer-service orientation and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with Q (airbrake) endorsement.
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience in Class 3 vehicles.
• Clean commercial driver’s abstract.
• Strong physical ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of truck maintenance is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily collection routes with efficiency and courtesy, adhering to established schedules.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Physically move collection bins from waste enclosures to the collection vehicle, ensuring bins are returned to their proper locations post-collection.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the collection vehicle and equipment, including removing debris, conducting routine inspections, and promptly reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Ensure client sites are left clean and organized before departure, including removing any debris or materials resulting from the collection process.
• Collaborate with the operations team to provide ongoing feedback and recommendations for route improvements.
• Utilize app-based routing software for real-time navigation and documentation of on-site issues.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with overflow routes, as well as shop and yard tasks as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
