Job summary

Complete Environmental is seeking an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our day shift team in Calgary. You will operate walking floor trailers, transport agricultural waste and construction products, and ensure compliance with TDG and hours-of-service regulations.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, accurate logging, and timely delivery documentation. A clean driving record and 3+ years of experience are required, with TDG/Weight and Dimensions certification pursued as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 license with clean driving record.
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Experience with walking floor trailers and related equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to undergo safety training and TDG/Weight and Dimensions certification.

  • Perform loading/unloading and ensure safe handling of loads.
  • Navigate Calgary routes and Highway 2 corridor while following safety rules.

  • Complete trip reports and delivery confirmations in a timely manner.

Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Class 1 Driverto join our dedicated day shift team. In this specialized role, you'll operate our walking floor trailer fleet supporting our valued customer partnerships. Working alongside our dedicated team of professional drivers, you'll be responsible for safely transporting agricultural waste, landscaping products, construction and demolition products, and garbage primarily on Calgary and area routes.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Safely operate company walking floor trailer to transport materials from customer locations to disposal sites
  • Execute precise loading and unloading procedures specific to walking floor trailer operations, ensuring safe handling throughout the transport cycle.
  • Navigate Calgary routes and the Highway 2 corridor efficiently while maintaining adherence to all traffic regulations and company safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily, checking tires, lights, brakes, hydraulic systems, and specialized walking floor equipment.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and performance throughout your shift, identifying and reporting any safety concerns or mechanical issues immediately.
  • Maintain accurate and timely Electronic Log Device (ELD) records for all trips and ensure compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
  • Complete comprehensive inspection reports, trip documentation, and delivery confirmations in a timely manner.
  • Always ensure compliance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations and Weight and Dimensions requirements.
  • Represent Cutting Edge Consulting professionally during all interactions with clients, personnel and receiving facility staff.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding scheduling, route conditions, delays, or operational concerns.
  • Adapt to occasional changes in routing or assignments as business needs require.
  • Participate actively in all required safety training and certification programs to maintain your professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Clean driver's abstract required for insurance purposes.
  • Experience operating 18-speed transmissions is considered a strong asset.
  • Tanker, walking floor, end dump, or Super B trailer experience is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Lethbridge - Red Deer corridor highway driving is an advantage.
  • Previous Super-B driving experience is considered an asset.
  • Must successfully pass a company road test during the interview process to demonstrate driving competency.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is mandatory.
  • Willingness to participate in and complete required safety training, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Weight and Dimensions certification.
  • Strong ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues.
  • Proven ability to accurately complete required documentation, electronic logging, and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and operational requirements as needed.
