Job summary

Emterra Group is hiring a hands-on Class 3 Driver / Recycling Collector for the Quesnel team. You’ll be in and out of the truck, collecting recycling by hand and loading it into the hopper, with a focus on safety and community cleanliness.

This role involves outdoor work, physical activity, and local, steady shifts with above-average wages and benefits. Transportation is provided for Prince George routes as needed.

Qualifications

• Class 3 license with air brake endorsement.
• Clean driver’s abstract dated within the last 5 days.
• 2 years of driving experience preferred.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual collection work.
• Ability to build professional relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable, team player.
• Experience in waste/recycling or a related industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 3 motor vehicles with air brakes.
• Complete daily collection routes on schedule.
• Safely collect residential recycling in blue boxes.
• Perform curbside residential recycling collection, including lifting and loading.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete documentation.
• Communicate with Route Supervisor regarding route issues.
• Deliver recycling to processing facility.
• Work Tue–Fri (4–6 days/month in Prince George; transportation provided).
• Provide professional collection service and promote a positive company image.
• Observe safe work practices.
• Perform other related duties as required.

We’re looking for a hands-on Class 3 Driver / Recycling Collector to join our Quesnel team. This is a physically active job where you’ll be in and out of the truck throughout the day, collecting recycling by hand and loading it into the hopper. It’s not automated collection and you’ll play a direct role in helping keep our communities clean and safe.

Position Description

• Safely operate Class 3 motor vehicles with air brakes;
• Complete daily collection routes on schedule;
• Safely collect residential recycle blue boxes;
• Perform curbside residential recycling collection — including lifting, carrying, and loading material into the truck hopper;
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete related documentation;
• Effectively communicate with Route Supervisor regarding any issues on route;
• Deliver the recycling to the recycle processing facility;
• Work Tuesday to Friday ( 4–6 days/month in Prince George; transportation provided);
• Provide a professional collection service and promoting a positive company image;
• Observe safe work practices;
• Perform other related duties as required.

Skills And Qualifications

• Class 3 license with air brake endorsement.
• Clean driver’s abstract. Applicants must provide a valid driver’s abstract dated within the last 5 days.
• At least 2 years of driving experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle a manual collection job (lifting and repetitive movement required).
• Ability to establish effective professional relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable, team player.
• Experience in waste/recycling or a similar industry is an asset.
