Job summary

Emterra Group in Burlington, ON is seeking a Front End Driver in the waste industry for a full-time role at approximately $27.19/hour. You will operate front-end or roll-off trucks to service commercial sites and work with supervision to ensure safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates hold a valid Ontario AZ/DZ license with clean abstract and CVOR, with at least one year of relevant driving experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Ontario AZ/DZ license with clean abstract and CVOR.
• Minimum 1 year roll-off and/or front-end driving experience.
• Prepared to work minimum 9.5 hours per day (overtime as required).
• Experience in the waste/recycling industry is an asset.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Operate waste collection vehicles (front-end or roll-off) to collect garbage and recycling materials from commercial buildings.
• Ability to work independently and maneuver the truck in/out of tight spaces using mirrors and cameras.
• Clean loose trash off truck and ground around containers during dumping.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding concerns or suggestions.
• Observe safe work practices.

Front End Driver (Waste Industry)

Burlington, ON Full-time $27.19/hour

Job Duties

• Operate waste collection vehicles (front-end or roll-off) to collect garbage and recycling materials from commercial buildings;
• Ability to work independently and without assistance while maneuvering the truck in and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors and truck cameras to back distances up to 120 feet;
• Clean loose trash off the truck and/or ground around the truck and containers that spill during the dumping process;
• Communicate with supervisors regarding concerns or suggestions; and
• Observe safe work practices.

Requirements

• Valid Ontario AZ/DZ driver’s licence with a clean drivers abstract and CVOR
• Minimum one year working roll off and/or front end driving;
• Prepared to work minimum 9.5 hours per day (Must be available for overtime work as required);
• Experience in the waste and recycling industry and asset;
• Strong customer service orientation;
• Physically fit, must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis, dependable, able to work with minimal supervisor;
• Able to successfully pass a background check consisting on a MTO medical/drug test, criminal history search, license verification and employment confirmation; and
• Punctual, reliable, team player.
