Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for the afternoon shift at our Hamilton, Ontario facility. The role involves operating skid steer and forklift machinery to move and process scrap metal within the shredder department, with duties including sorting metals and loading/unloading materials from trucks and processing equipment.

You will maintain a clean, safe yard, assist with general maintenance during downtime, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a heavy industrial setting is a asset
• Previous general labour experience required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
• Comfortable working outdoors in various types of weather (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc)
• Ability to work in a noisy and dusty, heavy industrial setting

Responsibilities

• Sorting and segregating various types of metals using appropriate attachments on the skid steer

• Hourly pay for this position is to start at CAD26.50 /hr, plus overtime after 44 hours
