Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a Loader Operator to join our Montreal-East team. You will load, move, and handle materials with a loader on an outdoor site. The role requires safety awareness and precision in a busy industrial environment.

We offer a permanent full‑time position with a stable daytime schedule (Mon–Fri, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), competitive salary, group insurance, RRSP with employer contribution, EAP and 24/7 telemedicine, safety boots, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• DEP in heavy machinery operation or 1–3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Valid heavy equipment operator certification.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate the loader safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout the site.
• Feed the production line and different departments as needed.
• Weigh incoming and outgoing materials and complete reports.
• Inspect the equipment before and after each shift.
• Report issues to supervisor and ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Identify material irregularities and report to supervisor.
• Keep work area clean and safe.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Loader Operator to join our team in Montreal-East.

As a Loader Operator, you will be directly involved in our recycling operations by loading, moving, and handling materials using a loader. You will primarily work outdoors in an industrial environment where safety, awareness, and precision are essential.

What you will be responsible for:

• Operate the loader safely and efficiently;
• Load, unload, and move materials throughout different areas of the site;
• Feed the production line and different departments as needed;
• Weigh incoming and outgoing materials and complete the required reports;
• Inspect the equipment before and after each shift;
• Ensure the proper operation of the equipment and report any issues to your supervisor;
• Report any material irregularities or non-conformities to the supervisor;
• Keep your work area clean and safe;
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• You have a DEP in heavy machinery operation or 1 to 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment;
• You hold a valid heavy equipment operator certification;
• You have a valid Class 5 driver's license;
• You are committed to health and safety;
• You are able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
• You have good communication skills;
• You are able to work effectively as part of a team.
