Job summary

BigSteelBox is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator for a full-time role at our Port Coquitlam location, with occasional support to the Langley store. The position runs Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., starting ASAP.

• Class 3 license with air brakes is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the yard in an orderly and efficient manner.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Set out, move, and stack BigSteelBoxes.
• Price and decal new inventory.
• Clean and pressure-wash units and perform touch-up paint as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment and records, including inventory and reports.
• Provide excellent service to customers, drivers and suppliers; assist with deliveries and pickups.

BigSteelBox - Canada’s leading provider of portable storage solutions- is looking for a Forklift Operator to fill a full-time position at our Port Coquitlam location with a requirement to support our Langley store where required.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a start date as soon as possible. THE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Valid driver’s license
• A Class 3 license with air brakes is an asset but not required
• Must have a valid Forklift Operator certificate
• 1-3 years of related work experience required

WHAT YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

• Maintain the yard in an orderly and effective manner.
• Load & unload trucks
• Set out, move, & stack BigSteelBoxes
• Price & decal new BigSteelBox inventory
• Clean & arrange pressure washing of units
• Repair & apply touch-up paint to scuffed units
• Maintain the yard, tools & equipment in an orderly & clean manner
• Maintain the yard free of weeds
• Monitor container & accessory inventory
• Maintain accurate records & reports
• Provide timely follow-up of all yard inquiries
• Maintain personal office space in an orderly & clean manner
• Promote & market products to prospective customers
• Provide excellent service to customers, drivers & suppliers
• Assist with scheduling BigSteelBox deliveries & pickups
• Perform minor welding (preferred but not required)
• Customer service and office work as required.
• Assist the Store Manager in other duties as required

Working Conditions:

This position involves working outdoors, operating a forklift, performing general labour, and occasionally lifting heavy objects (up to 100 lbs).
