Forsite Consultants Ltd. in Salmon Arm, BC, is seeking a Forest Technician with practical forestry knowledge for a full-time, temporary role that can lead to permanent placement.

You will conduct reconnaissance road/cut block work, ecological and riparian assessments, and prepare associated plans and appraisal packages in a safe, timely manner. We offer competitive wages, a solid benefits package, supported professional development and a company matched pension program.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a relevant discipline or 2+ years field experience.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Willing to travel out of town for 5- or 10-day shifts.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Safety-conscious attitude."
• Team oriented with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forest development activities including reconnaissance road/cut block work and ecological/riparian assessments.
• Prepare plans, deliverables and appraisal packages in a timely, safe, cost-effective, and professional manner.
• Occasional out-of-town and camp work may be required.
