Covenant Health Canada is seeking a Food Service Attendant to support Nutrition & Food Services at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hosp.
This casual/relief role covers rethermalization of entrees, heating ingredients from simple recipes, operating dish machines, portering heavy items, and maintaining clean kitchen areas. The position includes recording deliveries, monitoring food temperatures, assisting with catering, and training new staff, in line with Covenant Health policies and mission.

Description: The Food Service Attendant is responsible for the rethermalization of entrees and to prepare, cook or heat other ingredients from simple recipes or instructions. Duties also include operation of large dish machines; portering heavy food supplies; cleaning of large kitchen appliances and work area; receiving and recording of food deliveries; monitoring food temperatures and reporting items of doubtful quality. The Food Service Attendant participates in the training/orientation of new staff, assists with catering services and performs other related work duties as required. The Food Service Attendant is responsible for the completion of their duties in accordance with Covenant Health Mission, Values, Policies and Procedures. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:A valid Food Handling certificate is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
