The Covenant Health Canada (Grey Nuns Community Hospital) seeks a Cooks Assistant to support Nutrition Food Services. Under supervision, you will prepare and store fresh ingredients following catering/tally sheets and serve patients, residents, visitors and staff as needed.
Requirement: Grade 10, 2 years institutional experience in salads and sandwiches; ability to lift 20 kg, stand long hours, start early in the morning, and work weekends/holidays.

Description: The Cook's Assistant works under limited supervision and in accordance with catering or tally sheets in prioritizing, preparing and storing a variety of fresh ingredients and foods that will be served to patients, residents, visitors and staff. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Two years institutional experience in preparation of large quantiles of salads and sandwiches. Able to work weekends, holidays. Able to lift 20kg. Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to start at 5 am. Able to handle temperature changes.
Preferred Qualifications:As required.
