About the Job

Food Service Worker responsibilities include:

  • Portioning and serving meals and beverages within a dining room and/or cafeteria operation.
  • Counting, weighing, and measuring ingredients for food preparation.
  • Washing and peeling vegetables and fruit.
  • Assembling beverages and food items such as tea, coffee, sandwiches, salads, bag lunches, and Meals on Wheels program items.
  • Setting up and delivering meal carts.
  • Cleaning food service areas.

This is a casual opportunity. Casual employees are not guaranteed hours and can work from 0 to 37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

This position involves a rotating schedule, including day and evening shifts, scheduled as follows:

Shifts of work will rotate between 06:30 to 14:30, 13:30 to 18:30, and 14:30 to 18:30 hours.

Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
