Work setting:

• Supermarket / grocery store

Tasks:

1. Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
2. Place dishes in storage area
3. Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
4. Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
5. Scour pots and pans
6. Package take-out food
7. Portion and wrap foods
8. Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
9. Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
10. Stock refrigerators and salad bars
11. Take customers' orders
12. Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
13. Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
14. Handle and store cleaning products
15. Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
16. Remove kitchen garbage and trash
17. Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
18. Operate cash register
19. Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems
20. Provide advice about merchandise
21. Conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce
22. Provide customer service
23. Greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease
24. Prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease
25. Maintain sales records for inventory control
26. Assist in display of merchandise
27. Accept cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment
