Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals in a healthcare/education environment. You’ll operate in fast-paced areas, comply with safety standards, and support daily cash handling and customer service tasks.

The role requires FoodSafe Level 1, ability to work independently or in a team, and strong English communication. Prior healthcare/food service exposure is a plus. Candidates should be physically capable of heavy workload demands.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification is required.
• Familiar with using a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle a heavy workload.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting as required.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve meals while ensuring food quality and presentation.
• Perform prep work: washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits/vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays safely between stations.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Set up items for daily purchase and service.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards across all areas.
• Serve customers warmly and according to service steps.
• Address customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
