Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals while ensuring quality and presentation in a healthcare/retail setting.

Responsibilities include prep work, dishwashing, cash handling, sanitation compliance and delivering friendly service; ability to work independently or in a team is required. FoodSafe Level 1 certification is essential, with English proficiency both spoken and written.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
• Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations and refrigeration areas.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating, and rotation.
• Set up items for purchase on a daily basis.
• Perform general cleaning and waste removal.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Ensure quality and proper serving temperatures per recipes.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Maintain sanitation and safety compliance.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
