Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present, and serve meals with emphasis on quality and presentation. You will perform prep work, stock and rotate food, and ensure clean, safe operations across all retail areas.

The role requires FoodSafe Level 1, English proficiency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Prior food service experience is a plus, and cash handling skills are valued.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification required.
• Familiar with cash register operations is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written, and ability to follow instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is considered an asset.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Perform prep work: wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to and from stations safely.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Set up items for daily purchase and service.
• Clean and dispose of trash and maintain sanitation.
• Use approved recipes and portion control for serving temperatures.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance across all areas.
• Provide service in retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
